Sponsorship Opportunities
An important part of the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport (ICFGF) is to work alongside our partners and Highland communities to ensure that the economic opportunities which will be generated will benefit people across the Highlands and beyond.
Young people in particular, who are growing up in the Highlands will play a critical part in the success of the future energy economy of the region. ICFGF will, where possible, support schemes which help to create an equal playing field for young people, both within employment opportunities and within their communities.
How will we do this?
Each year, we intend to make a fund available for Highland communities to apply to, with a view to sponsoring these kinds of initiatives. In order to make this process fair and equitable to all interested parties, the application process will include a number of criteria which will need to be met for eligibility to apply.
We will share the details once confirmed, but some examples of potential criteria would be: locality of project (must be based in whole or in part in the Green Freeport area), support of opportunities for those who historically have faced barriers to work e.g. young women, disabled, disadvantaged, and projects which will contribute towards the transition to green energy.
When will we do this?
We are a small “not for profit” company limited by guarantee, so our ability to make such a sponsorship fund available will depend on the income we can generate.
Please continue to check our website for updates on this process and when the first funding cycle will open, which we hope will be around autumn 2024.
The timeline below, outlines the on going process in establishing the Green Freeport and how this will align with our sponsorship application process.
